HSBC has issued an apology after thousands of UK customers reported being unable to use mobile and internet banking for more than 24 hours.
Users complained on social media that they had been unable to pay bills or make discounted Black Friday purchases online since Friday morning.

HSBC expressed regret for “the inconvenience.”
The bank told that the outage was caused by “an internal system issue.”
“It only affects HSBC UK customers; there is no impact on First Direct or M&S Bank customers,” it stated, referring to HSBC UK’s other businesses.
